As of 2008 Whooga ugg boots are manufactured in China. We are an Australian owned and operated company but now manufacture and ship our boots from China. We still insist on purchasing Australian merino fleece and using the highest quality glues and stitching methods to produce our boots. Our Australian craftsmen continue to oversee and refine our manufacturing processes. Over the past 2 years we have directly compared and tested thousands of our new boots and we are 100% confident quality has improved.
There are a large number of factors which necessitated the shift. The Australian Government removed financial support for the manufacturing sector some 15+ years ago in the push for free trade. Since then there has been virtually no footwear and clothing manufactured in Australia. As a result of industry moving offshore it is extremely difficult sourcing skilled staff. Ugg boots are only popular for half of the year which means our staff would sit idle for 6 months of year.

Whooga continues to employ Australian support staff, management and frequently visits and is still directly involved in the manufacturing of our boots. Whooga is also a 100% Australian privately owned business. Please bear in mind that the vast majority of the worlds labels like Nike, Adidas, UGG Australia and many others are publicy owned American companies and all manufacture in China.
Sheepskin Boots can best be described as water resistant. A small amount of light rain will not damage your boots but you should definitely avoid getting them wet. Your Whooga Sheepskin boots are constructed from merino sheepskin which is a natural material, although very durable and extremely warm it will stretch and loose its shape if subjected to very wet conditions. If your boots are wet accidentally do not wear them, let them dry out of the sun in a cool place for at least 48hrs. They will feel a little tight but will soon stretch back to shape.
